I feel that the week has gone well for me it has been nice to get back into drawing full time for a purpose towards a brief and push myself. I think it's nice to look around at what others are doing and the materials they use to produce their work as it gives me ideas but also that push to do better. I quite like having competition, in a nice way - if I think someone is producing work that looks better or more professional than mine then I will try harder. This is why I like to keep artists work open if I am working digitally at a computer to ensure that my work stays at a professional standard. I have to say I feel the work that I have produced by hand so far hasn't came out as neat and professional as I would have liked. I haven't worked with paint properly in a long time, I got used to working on Illustrator rather than freehand so it has been a good experience for me to get back into it and experiment. I hope that I continue to experiment further with materials over the next coming weeks.
The briefs that have been set have been quite interesting and it was nice to work on something that I enjoyed and that interested me rather than something completely random. I like the idea of Context and Practise which means that you understand what it is that you are drawing for, and where your ideas come from and the purpose behind your concept. I strongly believe in this and I think more research will help me develop my ideas.
