The most stupid brief ever

Celebrities as animals - Piggy Smalls

I started off brainstorming ideas as to how I could create something that would make people smile, something humorous that was a play on the norm. I was coming up with ideas for food logos, playing on fashion brands, and then moved onto celebrities. I started to think about how celebrities have animals within their names or names that were similar that could be adapted to an animal. From this I created a list of all possible celebrities that I could draw out with animal features such as Simon COWell, BEE-yonce, Jay Z-bra, TIGER Woods, LIONel Richie etc.. 

I drew out little thumbnails of how I could represent these without using text in order for people to understand exactly what it was using things that were most cliche about the celebrities. For example, Beyonce most famous for her Single Ladies video, I drew a bee in the costume she wore on set. 

I decided on my favourite outcome which was rapper Biggie Smalls as a pig. I think the piece works well on its own without text but with such a play on his name, I found it quite funny and decided to include it anyway. If i had more time on this I would have focused more on the typography. 

I used a mixture of media such as permanent markers, graphite, pencil, fine liner to create shading from a photo I found of Biggie. I drew it on a bag instead of a t-shirt as I found it was a better material to draw onto. 

I think I have represented my concept well in the time that I had, and if I had longer I would definitely include colour, but overall pleased with the result!
